MY THREE IMPORTANT ROLES

*SUPPORTED BEST FRIEND

Listen to them
Try to understand a situation from your friend’s point of view. Ask questions to get a sense of the problem or issue, but the main thing is to listen to them. You don’t have to have all the answers, and don’t assume that your friend wants advice – they might just want to talk so that they can work it out for themselves.

Get the facts
If your friend has a medical or mental health issue, a good way to offer support is to learn about what they’ve been diagnosed with. Being interested in what they’re going through shows you care, and that you plan to stick around no matter what’s going on.

Ask them what they need
If you’re worried about someone and you want to be there for them, ask them what they need. You’ll then know what they find helpful during tough times, and you can offer them support in a way that’s genuinely helpful.

Get physical
Hugging your friends is a great way to show you care for them. Physical contact can be really comforting, especially when someone feels alone.

Keep in touch
Even if you don’t live nearby, show your friends you’re there for them by making an effort to keep in regular touch through social media, emails, texts and calls.

Tell them how you feel
You don’t have to make a big deal about it all the time, but you can make a real difference to how someone is feeling just by letting them know how important they are to you. So, go for it!

Be willing to make a tough call
If you think your friend’s safety is at risk, you might need to act without their consent and get help. It can be a tough call, particularly when you’re worried how they’ll react, but remember that good friends care enough to step up, and that you’re doing it to protect them from harm.

*GOOD STUDENT

Comply With Behavioral Expectations

Students should strive to comply with all behavior expectations. Behavioral expectations that are verbally outlined and posted as part of the classroom management plan should be incorporated into each child’s daily routine and life skill set. Each student deserves access to a quality educational environment, but unless each student endeavors to contribute to the development of that environment, that environment won’t exist. A quality educational environment will exist if all students make an attempt to comply with all behavioral expectations.

Comply With Academic Expectations

It is imperative that students strive to comply with all academic expectations in the classroom. This is not only for the benefit of the individual student, but also for the benefit of the entire class. Collaborative learning environments, in the form of partner and group work, necessitate a contribution from each student. If students are striving to meet all academic expectations, they will prepare outside assignments and study so that they can make a viable contribution to a collaborative environment.

Show Respect

Showing respect for self and others is one of the most important things a student can do to contribute to a quality learning environment and reducing disciplinary distractions. Simple actions such as waiting until recognized before speaking and raising a hand before speaking demonstrate self-respect and respect for others. Being attentive, listening and refraining from interrupting when others are talking also demonstrate a respect for others. Showing respect for others will reduce disruptions in the classroom.
Don’t Be Late

Being tardy to class can cause a major disruption for all students in the class and negatively impact the academic progress of the student who is tardy. When a student is tardy, he enters the classroom after instruction has begun, and the attention is drawn away from the teacher to the door when the student enters the class. Instruction is halted momentarily while the student finds his desk, settles in and the teacher catches the student up to the current point in the lesson. Additionally, information that was missed as a result of being tardy is not always completely conveyed in the catch-up period.

*RESPONSIBLE/LOVING GIRLFRIEND

1. YOUR BEST FRIEND.Your boyfriend should double as your best friend. He should be the one person who can make you smile, make you laugh, and make you feel better after a rough day. Sure, you have girlfriends that you’re close to, but your boyfriend should be your real bestie.

2. YOUR NURSE.When you’re sick, your boyfriend should be willing to make you soup and plug in the laptop when the battery runs low during your Netflix marathons. He should take you to your doctor and pick up your prescription for you. He doesn’t have to be your caretaker all year long, but he should rise to the occasion when you need him.

3. YOUR PARTNER IN CRIME.In a serious relationship, you need to make joint decisions. You’re partners, which means you have to consult each other before making any big, life altering decisions. You wouldn’t dream of buying a house or quitting your job without talking it through with him first.

4. YOUR TEACHER.Even if you two have a lot in common, there must be a few skills he possesses that you don’t have. Maybe he knows how to change a tire or bake a cheesecake. Whatever talents he has, he should be willing to teach you.

5. YOUR STUDENT.Your man shouldn’t be the only one doing the teaching. You have plenty of knowledge that you can pass on to him, as well. The more he learns from you, the more he’ll appreciate the fact that he has you in his life.

6. YOUR PSYCHIATRIST.Shrinks are expensive. That’s why your boyfriend should be open to listening to you rant about your problems and brag about your successes. He should always be willing to hear what you have to say, because it can bring you two closer together.

7. YOUR KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOR.When you hear a strange noise in the middle of the night, your boyfriend should volunteer to check it out for you. When you get a flat tire, he should change it for you (or at least dial AAA for you). He should be willing to help you out whenever you need his assistance.

8. YOUR CHEERLEADER.When you have a job interview to attend, your boyfriend should do whatever he can to boost your confidence beforehand. He should get you pumped up to remind you that you can accomplish anything. He should be your biggest supporter and your biggest fan.

9. YOUR BOY TOY.Your boyfriend should be open to trying new things in the bedroom if he knows they’d make you happy. He should also be willing to go down on you, even if it means he doesn’t get to orgasm for the day.

10. YOUR ADMIRER.Your boyfriend doesn’t have to surprise you with flowers and chocolates at work. However, he should give you thoughtful kisses on the forehead and let you pick the movie to watch on Friday nights. He should do little things to remind you he cares.
